MCKELLAR HEIGHTS

This project is located in the McKeller Heights neighbourhood in Ottawa. The goal for this design was to create a hyper minimalist, contemporary landscape using custom corten steel elements to add purpose & creative direction. In the backyard, we used large precast pavers with a polished, exposed aggregate finish, to give an industrial effect. A linear corten steel planter filled with textured ornamental grasses, acts as a backdrop and border to the patio, framing the modern outdoor furniture pieces carefully selected by our client. The chosen furniture act as sculptural elements in this space. The front yard emulates the minimalist feel of the backyard, with a large square precast paver path, and the focal feature being a custom corten steel planter with the same ornamental grasses.
